Question 4882 Psychology in my life

A title page formatted according to APA guidelines 2) A blog post between 750-1000 words. a. Your blog
post should include two sources: i. Your textbook: You must use a minimum of four concepts discussed
in your text from at least two different chapters of your textbook (cite chapters accordingly). 1. Your
post should define each concept that you use and explain the relevance of that concept to your career
and future life. You should use specific examples of how the concept will be applied to your life. 2. For
each concept you will need to explain how it will benefit your life – be specific. Simply stating it is
important is not sufficient. ii. One empirical peer reviewed journal article that has been published in the

relevant to your career. Integrate the journal article into the content of your blog. Doing so should: 1.
Establish a link between one or more of the concepts that you have decided are important to your
chosen career; 2. Demonstrate its significance to your chosen career (i.e., do not simply cite the journal
article) 3. Highlight the implications of its findings for your career (with some detail, not simply in
passing) b. The language of your blog should be geared towards your reader while also being
appropriate for the CPA website. 3) A reference page formatted according to APA 6th guidelines.

Question 4883 integrative review

the paper is on suicidal behavior ….and 4 PSYCHOLOGY DOMAINS WHICH HAVE TO BE DISCUSSED The
primary goal of this literature review is to integrate concepts from four different content domains within the larger field of psychology. The four content domains should be chosen from previous coursework in
this program. In this paper, students will review the findings in the individual empirical articles, organize
the research in a meaningful way, evaluate the reliability, validity, and generalizability of the research
findings, and present an integrated synthesis of the research that sheds new light on the topics within
and across the four domains. The result of a successful integrative literature review may be a significant
contribution to a particular body of knowledge and, consequently, to research and practice. Therefore,
before writing this literature review, substantive new research must be conducted via the Internet and
within the Ashford University Library for each of the four chosen domains. A minimum of six sources
must be included for each of the four domains. Although content from literature reviews completed in
prior courses within this program may be included, it may not constitute the total research for the
individual domains addressed within this assignment. No more than four sources from previous
literature reviews completed in this program may be utilized for this integrative review. The headings
listed below must be used within the paper to delineate the sections of content. These sections include
the following: a clear introduction that provides a general review and organizes the research in a
meaningful way; a discussion in which the evidence is presented through analysis, critique, and
synthesis; and a conclusion in which the discussion is drawn together in a meaningful way, the claims of
the introduction are brought to a logical closure, and new research is proposed. Introduction Provide a
conceptual framework for the review. Describe how the review will be organized. The questions below
may be used to guide this section. What are the guiding theories within the domains? How are the
domains connected? Are there competing points of view across the domains? Why is the integration of
these domains important? What is the history of these domains? What are the related theories or
findings? Describe how the literature was identified, analyzed, and synthesized. How and why was the
literature chosen? What is your claim or thesis statement? Discussion Provide the analysis, critique, and
synthesis for the review. Analysis Examine the main ideas and relationships presented in the literature
across the four domains. Integrate concepts from the four different content domains within the larger
field of psychology. What claim(s) can be made in the introduction? What evidence supports the claim(s)
made in the introduction? Critique Evaluate the reliability, validity, and generalizability of the chosen
research findings. How well does the literature represent the issues across the four domains? Identify
the strengths and the key contributions of the literature. What, if any, deficiencies exist within the
literature? Have the authors omitted any key points and/or arguments? What, if any, inaccuracies have
been identified in the literature? What evidence runs contrary to the claims proposed in the
introduction, and how might these be reconciled with the claims presented? Explain how the APA’s
Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct might influence the reliability and/or
generalizability of the chosen findings. Did the ethical issues influence the outcomes of the research?
Were ethical considerations different across the domains? Synthesis Integrate existing ideas with new
ideas to create new knowledge and new perspectives. Describe the research that has previously been
done across these domains, as well as any controversies or alternate opinions that currently exist. Relate
the evidence presented to the major conclusions being made. Construct clear and concise arguments
using evidence-based psychological concepts and theories to posit new relationships and perspectives
on the topics within the domains. Conclusion Provide a conclusion and present potential future
considerations. State your final conclusion(s). Synthesize the findings described in the discussion into a
succinct summary. What questions remain? What are the possible implications of your argument for existing theories and for everyday life? Are there novel theories and/or testable hypothesizes for future
research? What do the overarching implications of the studies show? Where should the research go from this point to further the understanding of these domains and the greater study of psychology?

Question 4891 the American Psychological Association’s online collection

I will provide examples and the abstracts once I choose a writer the assignment consist of 3 abstract
summaries Abstract Summary Instructions An abstract is a summary of a research study that usually
consists of 300 to 500 words. An abstract tells readers about the rationale for a study, previous related
studies, the methods used, the results of the study, and the researcher’s view of the study’s importance.
In most scientific journals, an abstract appears at the beginning of an article. They also appear in
databases such as PsycINFO (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., the American
Psychological Association’s online collection of nearly 5,000,000 abstracts of psychological research
articles. When writing research papers, psychology students must often summarize a study in many
fewer words that are typically found in an abstract. Thus, when describing a study in a research paper, a
student is summarizing a summary. The purpose of this assignment is to help you learn to do that. I have
provided you with two samples. Be sure to review them before you start working on your first abstract
summary. Here are the steps to follow for each summary: Click “Abstracts” and choose one of the
abstracts for which links are provided. If you use an abstract that is not posted in this module, your
grade will be zero. Write a three-sentence (no more, no less) summary that includes Purpose of the
study Methods used Results APA citation An APA reference must follow the summary. See this page
(Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for instructions and examples. Length: No more than
100 words. (Word limit applies only to the three-sentence summary.) Mechanics: -1 point for each error in spelling, grammar, capitalization, punctuation, etc. Submit the summary using the provided link:

Question 4895 Why are symptoms of PTSD often misinterpreted

Part 1: Initial Post Formulate a thread of 400+ answering the questions below. Citations and references
are required at the end of the assignment in addition to your word count. Do not include the references
in the word count. Use your book Crisis & Trauma Counseling by Dr. H. Norman wright as your
reference. 1) Based upon Dr. Langberg’s lesson on coping with traumatic memory, describe how
memory is affected by trauma. 2) Why are symptoms of PTSD often misinterpreted? 3) Why is
treatment so important for those with PTSD? Part 2: Reply Posts Respond to the two students listed
below with 200 words each, be substantive in your replies. Student 1. Misty Wood According to
Langberg, those who suffer from trauma can go to extremes of remembering and forgetting and after
the initial symptoms subside – forgetting is usually how the victim deals with trauma long-term
(Langberg, 2001). Additionally, victims deal with memories in regards to feelings and senses, not in
narratives of what happened but instead what they experienced, how they felt, what they smelled
(Langberg, 2001). Since they do not simply re-tell what happened, but tell with emotion and senses, a
person can often find themselves right back in the traumatic situation by re-experiencing the trauma.
Langberg states that if the victim finds themselves re-experiencing, (having a flashback) it is important to
reassure them that they are having a normal response and that they are safe (Langberg, 2001). Because
PTSD symptoms often turn from intrusion (reliving) to constriction (amnesia – all or just gaps in memory), it may seem that the victim is better; however, Langberg warns that in fact they have entered
into numbness (flat) with no emotion at all (Langberg, 2001). It is important to ask the right questions
but more important to really listen. “Trauma leads to silence, isolation and helplessness”, (Langberg, 2001, 05:15) so understanding the difference between PTSD and other mental issues such as depression
and anxiety is a must. To complicate things further many of the PTSD symptoms will also be linked to other mental disturbances. Langberg states that the trauma must be dealt with because one can rarely
move on successfully without proper treatment (Langberg, 2001). As stated before, the victim can move
from intrusive thoughts, flashbacks and nightmares to amnesia in either the entire trauma or parts of
the trauma; however, these issues can quickly resurface when one faces a trigger of the particular
trauma and once again they are re-experiencing (Langberg, 2001). Also, it is well known that those who
do not seek help often choose to numb their pain by alcohol and non-prescription drugs which can lead
to a multitude of problems with work, family and social settings. Langberg urges the church to help
those in need and not to think they are better when the appearance of the initial symptoms subside
(Langberg, 2001). Understanding God’s word and knowing how to incorporate prayer and scripture into
counseling settings (with the counselee’s consent) can be extremely beneficial, as many have guilt or
other issues surrounding the trauma that may make them feel disconnected from God. One such
scripture is found in Psalms, “he sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave
(Psalm 107: 20, NIV). Student 2. Angela Wright Memory can be affected by trauma in various ways and
range from one end of the spectrum to the other. Some victims re-experience the trauma repeatedly in
their thoughts while others are unable to remember anything (Langberg, 2001). These two differing
responses are defined as intrusion and constriction (Langberg, 2001), The two very different responses
can present in one victim. Due to this pendulum swing in emotions many victims can experience
unpredictability and chaos as time goes on (Langberg,2001). Traumatic memories can persist for years
after the tragedy has actually occurred. Victims often experience an inability to verbalize their exact
feelings. Four types of memories are indicative of trauma according to Langberg; sensory memory,
anguished memory, emotional memory and humiliated memory (2001). Sensory memory involves the 5
senses touch, smell, hearing, sight and also taste. Emotional memory involves the person recalling how
they felt at the time of the incident such as extreme fear. Split memory also referred to as anguished
memory describes life in a before and after approach ie ” before this happened” or “after it happened”
(Langberg,2001). The last form of memory Langberg describes is humiliated memory. This is described
as the feeling the victim has when they feel things could have been different if their actions were. PTSD
is often misinterpreted due to clinicians not receiving a full picture of what is going on. Victims tend to
minimize their symptoms and focus on one particular thing (Lyles, 2001). Co-morbid symptoms often
take presidence over the true underlying problem of PTSD especially in the Christian population. Surface
issues become the focal point of prayer rather than delving into the abyss of the root cause. PTSD must
be treated because it is not something that will go away with avoidance. People suffer in silence and the
disease evolves which can lead to severe depression, suicide and even homicide. Many people feel if the
drastic symptoms diminish the person is cured when constriction is actually occurring. Untreated PTSD
can lead to substance abuse and family erosion (Lyles, 2001). Providing an environment and program
that can produce behavioral change for PTSD victims is imperative for long term functioning and
recovery. Patience in this situation is necessary for both patient and helper. Romans 12:12 says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” this should be the blueprint for all Christian
counselors. Biblical application is required.

Question 4901 Create a Pamphlet on Methamphetamine and Mental Health

Warm-Up Activity 9.1: How to Prepare a Pamphlet A pamphlet is an format in which you can present
select and concise information to improve knowledge levels, to change someone’s attitude toward a
subject, to be used in conjunction with other interventions, to educate patients, their families and
professionals, and to target specific populations. The Challenge in Preparing a Pamphlet Writing an
effective pamphlet is challenging. You have a limited amount of space in which to provide information.
This is where organizing and outlining becomes important. 1. Determine the key concepts. Your
assignment will outline several or all points that need to be covered. 2. Use headings or subtitles to
address those key concepts. 3. Put the key point first in the explanation for each section. 4. Properly cite
your supporting resources just as you would do with a traditional paper. NOTE: Double-check with your
Mentor to see if he or she will accept footnotes rather than a reference section for your pamphlet if it
helps with readability of your information. 5. Graphics, photographs, charts and other illustrations need
to be appropriate to the topic and audience. Creating a Pamphlet There are a number of software
programs including Microsoft Publisher that are designed to create a variety of different written
materials. But you can easily create your own using Microsoft Word. Depending on the version of Word
that you may have, you can open a template and simply cut and paste your information into the
template. Or you can search the Internet for a free template. But you can also create a simple pamphlet
in Word by following these steps. 1. Open a new file in Word, name it and save it as you would any other
assignment. 2. Go to PAGE LAYOUT>MARGINS>NARROW (1/2 inch) 3. Write your text and insert graphics 4. Go to PAGE LAYOUT>ORIENTATION>LANDSCAPE. Change to landscape – 11 x 8 ½ 5. Highlight
text. 6. With text highlighted, go to PAGE LAYOUT>COLUMNS>THREE. Click and save. Your file now is a
draft pamphlet that you now can review, revise and proof before you submit it to your Mentor for
feedback. Simple Tips Effective pamphlets are those that present information that is organized,
supported with valid research, and easy to understand. 1. Use short words and sentences. Keep your
audience in mind. 2. Use quotes sparingly. As a general rule, quotes have value for emphasis if you
cannot rephrase the information any better in your own words. 3. Use the active voice. “Families can
provide support to children struggling with homework by”… rather than “Support can be provided by
the family to children struggling with homework by…” 4. Be positive. “Families should” rather than
“Families should not” Presentation Tips 1. Use a simple font and no less than 12 point (footnotes should
be no smaller than 9 point) 2. Use the same font throughout. 3. Use color sparingly and for emphasis
only. The same goes for underlining and italics. 4. Use white space effectively. If text is squeezed
together, it is hard to read. Rather, take time to edit your information so that your key concepts are
clearly and simply presented. Assignment This week you are to prepare a pamphlet that can be
distributed at mental health clinics, public health centers, and physicians’ offices explaining the
relationship between methamphetamine and mental health. Be sure to include the following in your
pamphlet: A definition of methamphetamines, their most common form and usages How
methamphetamines are abused Intoxication caused by methamphetamine use Long and short term
effects of methamphetamine abuse Symptoms and methods of withdrawal from methamphetamine use
Psychiatric illnesses association with methamphetamine use Different ways disorders co-occur with
methamphetamine (e.g., self-medications vs. meth-caused mental disorder) Treatment options and
prognoses for methamphetamine addiction Support your pamphlet with the sources you located in
Week 8. In addition, provide two local community resources that deal with the problem of methamphetamine and mental health issues. Your pamphlet should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights
relating directly to this topic. Be creative while reflecting scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Question 4904 peer-reviewed scientific journal article focused on a Psychology topic you find interesting

Topic: Who Da Scientist? You Da Scientist! Scientists read the work of others, think about it critically,
then often decide what should be done next. That will be your task in this peerScholar activity!
Specifically, your task is to find some peer-reviewed scientific journal article focused on a Psychology
topic you find interesting. It can be anything related to psychology, and if you don’t know how to find
articles a good place to start is Google Scholar or the U of T Library website. Try to pick one with just 1 or
2 experiments, and hopefully one that isn’t too overly technical. Then do the following … 1. Read the
paper carefully and, as you do, identify the theory under investigation and the specific hypothesis drawn
from that theory that is being tested. 2. Begin your peerScholar composition, with a brief summary (300-
400 words )of the paper you read, making sure to explain the theory, the hypothesis, the experiment,
and whether the results supported the hypothesis (and how or why). 3. Then the second part of your
peerScholar composition (again, 300-400 words) should be your idea of what you think should be done
next. You can propose a different way of testing the same hypothesis, or you can suggest a new or
extended hypothesis that you derived from the theory, and explain how you would test that. You need
to answer the following questions: What population will you be testing? What are your dependent and
independent variables? How will you measure them? What is your hypothesis? What result do you
expect, and why? If you saw that result what would it say about the theory? Citations You only need to
read the one paper you choose, but you can also read more if you like. You must reference all papers
you refer to in proper APA style. Any claim you make that is not obviously true must be backed up by a
citation, in APA style. By that, we mean both an in-text citation and a reference list in APA style. If you
need to learn more about APA style, check out this website. If you need further assistance, please visit
the UTSC library! Word Limit Part of the task is to create an efficient argument. Your argument should
be between 600 and 800 words (excluding reference list and citations). If your work is noticeably outside
these guidelines, you will lose marks. Anonymity These compositions are meant to be anonymous. You
should not include any identifying information with your composition. DO NOT write your name or
student number in the assignment, just write your composition. Academic Integrity If you are suspected
of plagiarism, the case is sent to the Departmental Chair and the Academic Integrity Office for them to
meet with you and determine what sanctions will be imposed. This is a lengthy process, and your course
grade will be withheld until the integrity issue is resolved. If you plagiarize, often you don’t get just zero
on the assignment — it may be the case that you lose 2 or 3 times the value of the assignment from
your grade. So just don’t do it! Here is a resource about how to avoid plagiarizing. If you feel you need
more information on this, please visit the UTSC Writing Centre (AC210, across from the Library). They
offer one-on-one drop-in sessions to help you with your writing! FAQ Q: Can I use personal pronouns? A:
Yes. Q: Can I cite the textbook? A: The textbook is not a primary source. You will see throughout the
book that the authors provide citations for the sources of their information, and that there is a
references section at the back of the textbook. You should find the original article that the textbook is referencing, read it, and use the original work for your citation. Q: Can I go over 800 words? A: Part of
your mark is for creating an efficient argument. If your work is noticeably over the word limit, the TAs
will deduct marks. Q: Do I need to double space / include a running head / etc.? A: Nope, for this
assignment we do require that your references be in APA style (in-text and reference list), but we aren’t
concerned with spacing or the other elements of APA style for this assignment. Q: Can I make changes
to my work after I’ve submitted it? A: You can edit it up until the deadline. Log in and click the orange
“Create Phase” button, and then there is an “Edit” button on the top right.

Question 4906 Neuropsychological Disorder OF Biopsychological Analysis

My chosen Neuropsychological disorder is ADHD! Prior to beginning work on this assignment, review
your completed Week 1 Selection of Final Project Topic written assignment, Week 2 Final Project
Annotated Bibliography written assignment, and your Week 3 Final Project Annotated Outline written
assignment. In your Final Project, you will synthesize an overview of the major theories relating to the
pathology of a disorder, as well as provide a detailed discussion of the etiology (causes) and clinical
interventions, using research to support your analysis. Your topic will be the same neuropsychological
disorder that was selected and approved by the instructor in your Week 1 written assignment, and for
which you provided an annotated bibliography in your Week 2 written assignment, and an annotated
outline in your Week 3 written assignment. For your Week 5 Final Project, you will expand on the
subject content from your previous assignments. Be sure to include all the information covered in the
Week 3 outline. In keeping with the focus of this class, the emphasis of your paper will be on the
neuroscience aspects of the disorder, to include the following: • Explain the theories of etiology (causes)
of the disorder with a focus on the neurobiology of the disorder. • Explain associated factors in
development of the disorder (genetic, environmental, familial, lifestyle). • Describe the pathology of the
disorder with an emphasis on the abnormalities of nervous system structure and function (brain
structures, neural pathways, neurotransmitter/receptor systems), including any genetic and biochemical
aspects. • Give examples of treatment options including both drug (pharmacological) and non-drug
(pharmacological treatments), with rationales for use of these treatments based on current
understanding of the neurobiology of the disorder. • Summarize diagnostic and research technologies
employed in clinical diagnosis, clinical and behavioral health care, and basic science research. Your
research will include the references you identified in your Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3 assignments,
with additional references as needed. Your references should include a minimum of six to eight peer-
reviewed and/or scholarly sources, which provide evidence-based information regarding the biological
and psychological features of the disorder and were published within the last five years. At least four of
your references should be peer-reviewed publications of original research studies. For further
information, please review the Original Research Study Tipsheet (Links to an external site.)Links to an
external site.. To justify your assertions, provide in-text citations for all factual statements taken from your research, with corresponding references drawn from scholarly sources. All citations and sources
are to be documented according to APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center, and should
support and enhance your analysis of the selected disorder. Sources may include review articles, original
research articles, information from governmental agencies (e.g., National Institutes of Health, Centers
for Disease Control, Food and Drug Administration, Drug Enforcement Administration) and/or
professional societies (e.g., professional society position papers or clinical practice guidelines). With the
exception of the DSM-5, you may cite and reference course materials such as the textbook, required or
recommended reading, or multimedia, but these will not fulfill the source requirement. The
